_______'No Kissing' at a British railway station_______

London: "No Kissing" is the sign authorities of a railway station in Northern England have put up at the drop off and taxi zones banning romantic farewells and passionate embraces saying it causes delays for the commuters.

The signs, showing two pecking silhouettes within a circle and red line through them, came up at the Warrington Bank Quay railway station's taxi and drop off zones on Monday.

Virgin Trains, the company which operates the station, said that the signs have been put as part of the 650,000 pounds refurbishment project of the station.

The signs, said to be the brainchild of the head of a local business networking group, have been put up to encourage people in making the place more efficient, the company said.

"It was all a bit of fun. But now Virgin Trains have agreed to put them up as part of the refurbishment," chief executive of Warrington Chambers of Commerce, Colin Daniels,

was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

They may seem frivilous but there is a serious message underneath, Daniels added.

Virgin spokesperson, terming it a "light-hearted way "of getting message across said, "we are trying to tell people not to wait too long in the drop off area."

Asked how the no-kissing rule would be enforced, he added: "We will apply this sensibly."
